Today we are going to talk about how you can find out what your home is worth this spring. It’s a popular time of year to sell a home, and we want you to be as prepared as possible.
The first thing you want to do is find out what your “X-factors” are. Those include looking at what other homes have sold for recently, and what specific upgrades and improvements you’ve made to your property.
Next, you want to choose an agent in the know. You want this agent to be able to do a thorough competitive market analysis, or CMA, to make sure you are pricing your home correctly to get the highest dollar amount possible.
Additionally, you can hire an appraiser. It costs between $400 and $500 but if the price range is wide among the agents you’ve talked to, it might not be a bad idea to get an appraiser to get a definitive value.
Finally, you need to look at the condition of your home. When you list your home, you’re competing against other homes and you want yours to stand out by being priced competitively. Evaluate your home based on others that are on the market and see your home through the eyes of a buyer.
There can be a lot of questions when you’re figuring out your home’s value. If you have any, don’t hesitate to give us a call or send us an email. Thanks!
